Court Ordered Family Court Services Mediation in California

I’m Liz Camaur at Camaur Crampton Family Law. At Camaur Crampton Family Law, we provide both litigation and mediation services. Litigation is when we advocate for one side. We provide legal advice, and we fight for the client in court proceedings. When we litigate, and we represent one side, we can still work on settling the case, at least on some issues, if not all of them. Our job is to work in your best interests and to work to advocate your positions in the case.

For mediation, we work as an objective third party to reach an agreement. Mediators do not represent either side and cannot give legal advice. The mediator works with both sides to reach an agreement on their case. The mediator is impartial. The mediator does not go to court to represent either side, and all of the mediation discussions are confidential, and cannot be used as evidence in court. The mediator does not advocate for either side. The mediator’s role is to help the parties reach an agreement. A good media will always recommend that the parties each obtain their own attorney to review and advise them on their position.

Parties typically have more control over their lives when they settle their differences, and our office can do that, whether we represent you or act as a mediator for both parties. We can work out what’s called a no court divorce. That’s a divorce that’s based on an agreement, and many times we can resolve the issues this way. The key is to make sure you have an experienced, knowledgeable and skilled attorney working with you, whether it’s for mediation or litigation. You want an attorney who specializes in family law and has the experience and skills to handle your case. Remember, having the right attorney makes the difference.
